Colorado Divorce. Our attorneys will explain the divorce process and work with you to identify your objectives with respect to your children, your spousal and child support obligations, and the division of the marital assets and debts. When the marital estate involves complex or high-value properties, such as family business assets or extensive retirement or pension benefits, we work with forensic experts and attorneys from our other practice areas to make sure that the marital assets are properly identified, evaluated, and characterized. We also address issues of spousal maintenance (alimony) in situations where one spouse will need support in making the transition to financial self-sufficiency.

Child Support and Child Custody. Each parent's rights and obligations are determined under the Colorado Child Support Guidelines. Both divorcing spouses' incomes are considered to determine the total child support obligation, and each parent's share reflects many factors, including the number of nights the child will spend with each parent over the year. Inman Flynn uses software to calculate the appropriate child support in each given case, and can show you how a support obligation can change under differing circumstances or upon proof of different facts.

Post-Decree Modifications and Enforcement. Many of our clients find that after the divorce becomes final, changes in circumstances - income, residence out of state, or health conditions - require an increase or decrease in child support or alimony payments or a change in parenting time. It's also sometimes necessary to enforce a child support or custody decree by garnishment or motion for contempt of court.

Inman Flynn's attorneys also help clients with preparing for divorce mediation on contested issues, prenuptial agreements (especially for older clients or those contemplating a second or third marriage), and matters such as stepparent adoption or grandparents' rights.
